Our recent “Knights of the King” Kids’ Club took 32 children on an adventure through the book of Matthew, engaging with the story of Jesus – what he did and taught as well as the people he met and how he affected them. A wonderful cast presented a clear message of the search for the true king: Jesus.
The program kept the kids busy and interested and involved some great music, plenty of games and craft, creative activities, and a delicious, nutritious morning tea prepared each day. The leaders were well organised and encouraging, sensitive and caring, and really modelled God’s love in all their interactions with the children and parents. It was obvious by the laughter, participation and concentration that all the children enjoyed themselves, as did the team.
The Vicar, Simon Carter, tied the whole message together and pointed the children to Jesus as the true King. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
On Thursday night we celebrated with a sausage sizzle where many parents came to watch their children sing and listen to a summary of the week.
A huge thanks to our Sunday School Coordinator Lyn Brown who directed the Holiday Club.
